As the new Vice President of People, Talent & Workplace of FLYR, I look forward to helping our crew thrive and grow.
FLYR is an innovative company with a vision and purpose that I can connect with both personally and professionally. Not only am I an avid traveler (and will continue to be throughout my life), I know that this is such a pivotal stage of a company’s growth, and the most important time to build a strong people-based foundation to further amplify our potential.
Though I currently live in the San Francisco area, I started my career in Spain and Germany. I have a passion for people and culture and love working with individuals that have different and diverse backgrounds. My career journey has allowed me the opportunity to travel and work in several different countries and industries, starting in Sales and Marketing and later crossing over into leading People.
When I interviewed with FLYR, I had the pleasure of meeting talented and diverse individuals, and I knew right away that this was the right fit for me. My skillset and toolbox will serve FLYR well, and I am truly looking forward to helping lead and grow our People, Talent & Workplace initiatives.
One of the most impactful lessons I’ve learned is having deep listening and understanding of the problems at hand. The ability to deeply listen leads to trust, team building, and effectively and efficiently delivering on projects and strategy. I intend to approach my first months at FLYR deeply listening, building relationships, getting to know our crew and customers, and understanding the problems we need to solve.
Along with deeply listening, the most important elements of growing a diverse and global team are defined within the 4 Cs: Care, Culture, Curiosity, and Competency. I love the 4 Cs. As human beings when we’re in repeated structure, we can easily get bored. We’re creative creatures and don’t want to ask the same questions over and over again.
Building a team that emphasizes care and curiosity is paramount to making a dynamic, always-improving culture.
More About Me
I love to travel! Spain, the UK and Thailand are a few of my favorite destinations. Spain is at the top of my list, and I fully intend to retire there. As a frequent flyer, some of my go-to travel hacks are to always read up and prep for my trip, identify 3 key things about where I am going, and pack for the occasion. To keep healthy while flying, I drink water, water, and more water, and also put Vaseline in my nose to keep the germs out. I always arrive fresh and ready to rock-n-roll!
Along with traveling internationally, I love learning new languages, gourmet cooking, and spending time with my 2 boys who are very active. I spend a lot of time on the baseball field to watch my younger son play ball and my older son umpire. I also like to read and am currently reading Bad Girls Throughout History.
My Aunt is one of my biggest inspirations. She was the president of a top insurance brokerage in San Francisco and was nominated 3x as the top 100 businesswomen in the Bay Area. She has inspired me to be who I am today, proving that the most important leadership qualities are compassion, self-awareness, ethics, developing others, and accountability.
