- FLYR crew builds connections and plan for continued growth at Takeoff23

The most powerful word in business is connection.
In March 2023, FLYR leaders and colleagues gathered at Takeoff23 to connect, learn, and plan. The goal: company-wide strategic alignment after a year of massive growth, setting the tone for the future and creating an environment for success as One FLYR.
The number of FLYR crew members grew threefold in the past year, thanks in part to the acquisitions of Newshore, Pribas, and Pace Revenue to boost the power of the Commercial Operating System for Travel and Transportation.
“In an industry that struggles to innovate, we are operating as one company toward one shared objective: building the first true 21st-century technology company that is going to power every key commercial decision at all of the world’s largest travel companies,” founder and CEO Alex Mans stated in his opening remarks to the crew.
“These companies have operated for decades using a handful of technology suppliers that haven’t innovated and haven’t invested. It’s time this changes, and we are the company that is going to change it.”
Throughout the multi-day event, teams and individuals were challenged to be active participants, collaborators, and leaders. The time was focused on four main objectives.
Product expansion knowledge sharing and sales enablement.
Leaders from our recent acquisitions – Newshore, Pribas, and Pace Revenue – educated teams on how their portfolios integrate with and expand on our current product offerings, and product managers presented product features and roadmaps for future enhancements.
“Even from my first conversation with Alex, it was clear that we had the same ambition to go after the travel and transportation industry at large and really transform commercial decision making in the industry,” Pace co-founder Jason Pinto said.
Customer relationships and feedback.
Over the past six months, FLYR has announced partnerships with JetBlue, Avianca, Azul, Qatar Airways Cargo, Cyprus Airways, and more. This meeting was a time to connect on those partnerships and what we’ve learned, as well as how to provide more value to these important customer relationships.
One of our airline partners’ Chief Commercial Officer spoke to the Takeoff23 attendees at the opening keynote about how FLYR, with the acquisition of Newshore, has become the Bloomberg Terminal for his airline’s business, providing them with a single pane of glass to help with forecasting, managing revenue, analyzing data, building a new booking experience on their direct channels, informing marketing automation, and more.
“It’s about having more tools to better understand and sell to our customers with the ultimate objective to extract more value from our relationships with our customers and for our customers to get more out of the relationship as well,” he said.
Collaboration.
As our Commercial Operating System evolves and is being implemented with more partners, FLYR is focused on increased productivity, improved time to market, and faster product releases to help our partners experience revenue uplift and more reliable intelligence across their operations. To enable this, our teams – including product, engineering, sales and marketing – collaborated to build improved communication and teamwork and more efficient workflows.
Competitive advantage, shared successes, and training.
Looking toward anticipated growth, crew members were apprised of the latest market trends, competitive product knowledge, and FLYR’s competitive advantages. Teams and individuals were recognized for their successes, and our executive leadership team shared exciting plans for the year ahead.
Amid all this learning and planning, the FLYR crew also enjoyed team-building outings and donated time to build hygiene kits for women and children in need with United Way, rounding out a week filled with hard work and excitement over what FLYR has accomplished, and the progress toward the company’s future goal to become the Commercial Operating System for Travel & Transportation.
